Airbus A380 passa sobre Portugal e próximo do Aeroporto de Faro (Airbus A380 passes over Portugal and near Faro Airport) Quarta-feira, Junho 25, 2008

Boas. Passou hoje, dia 25/06/2008 sobre Portugal o avião maior do mundo: Airbus A380. Seguiu para as Canárias via VOR de Sagres e voltou passando muito perto do VOR de Faro (isto claro em altitude).
Como se pode ver por esta imagem do radar aqui está o A380 em rota ascendente. de volta a casa após testes.

Hello. So today, 25th of June has passed over Portugal the biggest aircraft in the world: the Airbus A380. It was on route to Canary Islands via Sagres VOR and camed back from Canary Islands passing very near Faro Airport and Faro VOR (in altitude of course).
As you can see by this radar image, here is A380 in ascending route back to home after some tests.

Aeroporto de Faro vai ter hotel integrado

O Aeroporto de Faro vai ter um hotel de média dimensão em 2009. A unidade deverá ter entre três e quatro strelas, e destina-se principalmente a servir tripulações e «staff» do aeroporto. A notícia avançada pela Lusa dá conta de que o hotel também servirá passageiros de voos de longa distância ou que tenham que embarcar de madrugada. No entanto o director do aeroporto, António Correia Mendes, disse à Lusa que apesar do hotel não vir propriamente a ter uma vocação turística, estará também aberto a eventuais turistas. O mesmo responsável acrescenta que o investimento será totalmente privado. A unidade deverá demorar ano e meio a ser construída. E fica instalada no perímetro do aeroporto, junto ao posto de abastecimento de combustíveis. Quando construído o hotel tornar-se o segundo do género no país, depois de um projecto idêntico que está a avançar no Porto e que será concluído antes da unidade algarvia.

It will be in the airport perimeter, near the fuel tanks.   When the hotel is totally constructed it will be the second of the type in the country, after an identical project that is under way in Oporto, and that will be finished before Faro unit.   Same information font.
